Daniel Wiener’s paintings and sculptures are highly imaginative. Inspired by daydreams and transformations, the viewer can sense how he has captured something ephemeral- a fleeting moment. His saturation of colors and fluid lines seem to change before the eye. Each medium that Wiener explores shifts, winds, untangles, and blooms allowing his art to evoke multiple responses and feelings. Recently, Daniel has also been creating functional objects like tables, countertops, vases, stools and chairs.
Daniel Wiener studied at Brown University and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. He has exhibited in solo exhibitions at ACME Gallery (Santa Monica), Bie & Vadstrup (Denmark), Galerie Barbara Farber (Amsterdam), and Lesley Heller Gallery (New York). His work has been featured in group exhibitions at Mike Weiss Gallery (New York), Tracy Williams Gallery (New York), Feigen Gallery (Chicago), James Schmidt Contemporary (St. Louis), Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire (Paris), and Mixed Greens (New York). Daniel Wiener’s artworks are included in public collections at Brown University (Providence), Museum of Contemporary Art at La Jolla (San Diego), Santa Cruz Museum of Contemporary Art (Santa Cruz), and Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst (Belgium).
