About this work

Microgravity Droplets is a signed limited edition print of only 25 by Richard Garriott de Cayeux. One print from the edition of 25 created in 2008 is available exclusively on ArtWeLove. The original artwork from which this print edition is created was painted aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and represents the first form of action painting which does not involve or require physics of gravity. To create artworks unlike any that could be made on Earth, Dr. Garriott de Cayeux built a paint box and allowed droplets of paint to float before eventually forming spheres that would stick to the paper inside the box rather than falling flat onto the paper as in Earth gravity.

The purchase of this print will go to support the Challenger Center and its mission to create a scientifically literate population.
